oranges
I finished this painting of oranges yesterday. I especially loved painting those 3 green ones up front.

My friend Scott and I just drove from Austin to L.A. I am out here working on a new body of work. The road is a wonderfully relaxing place for me. Nothing to do but drive, drive, drive. Most of my road trip photos are taken while still in the car trucking down the highway. But when a gorgeous sunset presents itself, you have to pull over and enjoy the moment. Here are two for today. Thanks Scott, you are a perfect travel partner. – brian
I have been accepted into a juried exhibit called “Love’s Writ” at the studio 2 gallery on South Lamar. The opening is this Saturday, January 17th, 2009 from 6:30-9:30pm. Hope you can make it. If not check it out some other time, it runs through February 14th, 2009.
We recently took a road trip to visit some friends in LA. What a crazy city. An amazing mix of natural beauty and urban madness. We spent a few hours roaming around the Huntington Gardens. I loved the cactus garden and the palms as well, but the citrus trees were the ones that really got to me.

Please join me at an art opening I am a part of this Friday, January 9th from 6-10pm. The venue is IF+D which is located at 208 Colorado Street in Downtown. The exhibit is a showing of Austin photographers. If you would like to see a sample of each artists work follow this link.
I think this should be a fun night out so stop on by. I hope to see you. -brian
